Where do the trips leave depart?

Old Yeller Guide service normally leaves from a private canal side slip in Atlantic Beach or the Crow’s Next Yacht Club also in Atlantic Beach. Some backcountry fishing trips aboard the Pathfinder may leave from other nearby boat ramps so please contact me for directions prior to departure. If clients wish to be picked up or depart from a different location, there is some flexibility in the details that can be worked out if you book a charter.

Can clients keep any fish caught?
Yes, fish may be kept according to all applicable state and/or federal creel limits if desired. Depending on the time remaining after the charter, and the size/number of fish caught, I may be able to clean or assist in the cleaning of kept fish.

What do my clients need to bring?
All bait and tackle are provided for charters; however, feel free to bring any favorite tackle or personal rods/reels as desired. Please bring anything you wish to eat or drink; cooler space will be provided aboard. Clients wishing to keep fish, should bring their own cooler to transport the catch home. Other necessities include sunscreen, a camera, and a drybag for any deck storage above and beyond what can be stowed in Old Yeller’s hatches.

Do clients need a fishing license?
When fishing aboard the Sea Craft, all anglers are covered by a NC Department of Marine Fisheries blanket charter license. However, an individual NC Saltwater license is required when fishing in the backcountry aboard the Pathfinder.

How can my clients pay for trips?
Payment by check or cash is acceptable. No credit cards.

Are children and/or pets allowed?
Children are always welcome aboard trips, however younger children will need personal life jackets at all times if less than 12 years old according to State law. Pets or dogs are discouraged from fishing charters due to safety concerns, but they are welcome for photography/eco tour trips.
