Gear
I use the some of the best quality fishing gear available for use in the harsh saltwater environments. Light tackle and conventional gear used include Penn, Shimano, and St Croix products. Fly fishing products from Sage, Scott, and Tioga are available for fly anglers if not using their own gear.

Tackle
Live bait will be used as needed, but artificial lures and tackle are emphasized based on the target species. Many of these lure types include jig/lead head lures with plastic bodies, plugs, spoons, and metal jigs. The sizes and types of these basic lures varies with the target species and water conditions being fished. Fly patterns include a variety of sizes and colors of clousers, deceivers, and crustacean flies.

Bait
Live menhaden, cigar minnows or greenies are generally slow trolled offshore or nearshore for kingfish, amberjacks, dolphin, sailfish, sharks, and the like. Live finger mullet or mud minnows are often used inshore and nearshore for Spanish mackerel, flounder, seatrout, and other fish. Cut bait, or synthetic baits like FishBites can also be used in certain circumstances for inshore fishing, with ballyhoo as a staple bait used offshore for bluewater pelagic fish.
